Habitat type: Rough Terrain
Original Entry: May 27, 1996.
MAGNEMITE are born with the unique ability to defy gravity by floating n air via powerful electromagnetic waves, but some think that it uses a sort of anti-gravity to stay suspended. They are attracted to electromagnetic waves, and have been known to approach trainers whom are using technology such as a POKÉGEAR. MAGNEMITE tend to appear without warning, almost appearing out of nowhere, and they use THUNDER WAVE along with similar moves. They discharge electricity by using their two side-mounted unites, which they also use to generate the anti-gravity energy that keeps it aloft in the air. The sheer amount of electricity they emit from the units on their sides cause MAGNEMITE to become a powerful magnet. In fact, MAGNEMITE's magnetism can be so powerful that it can draw in iron objects from over 100m away. MAGNEMITE can even increase it's magnetism by controlling the speed in which it's side units rotate. MAGNEMITE feed off of electricity, and will attach themselves to power lines to feed. They are a common cause of power outages, and if one occurs in a home, it is recommended that the homeowner checks their circuit breakers. There the homeowner may find a large number of MAGNEMITE clinging to the home's breaker box. MAGNEMITE becomes incapable of flight if its internal electrical supply is depleted.
